I never joined the lockdown sourdough craze — just arrived fashionably late. A few failed starters and flat loaves later, I found myself back at it this autumn during a workshop at Flok by Flere Fugle. Since then, I’ve been baking, learning, and burning (a little), discovering how something as simple as flour and water can connect craft, patience, and community right here in Nordvest.

In a small corner of Nordvest, right by the football fields of BK Union, Martin runs a café that’s become a heartbeat of the neighborhood. What began with borrowed fridges and homemade buns is now a space for good food, football, and togetherness. From serving healthy meals to kids and families to creating projects for the vulnerable, Martin is quietly building community — one dish, one Saturday, one smile at a time.
