While researching bakeries in Nordvest a few weeks ago, I was surprised to come across Skruens—a highly rated spot I had never even heard of. Tucked away at the southernmost end of Mågevej, this tiny neighborhood bakery keeps things simple but delivers big on quality.
Their focus is clear: incredible bread. The selection is basic—loaves, bread rolls (poppy seed, sesame, and plain), and a handful of pastries—but everything is made with care. The sourdough, in particular, is a standout. With its crunchy crust and perfect chew, it’s no surprise that it sells out quickly on weekends, so getting there early is a must if you want to enjoy it all weekend long.
One of the more unique things about Skruens is its self-service system. Most of the time, you simply transfer the money for your purchase without going through a cashier. But if you don’t have MobilePay, you can still pay by card or cash.
A fun little bonus: every Friday, they sell fresh pizza dough, so you can make your own homemade pizza without the hassle of prepping the dough yourself. A small but great addition from a bakery that clearly knows its craft!
