After stopping by Grønt Marked the other week, I started thinking (again) about how to source vegetables responsibly—closer to home, more seasonal, and with fewer supermarket miles. Over the years I’ve tried a bunch of options (EatGrim, KBHFF when I lived in Nørrebro, and Birkemosegaard more recently). Prompted by the new Here are a few good ways to fill your kitchen in and around Nordvest.
What it is
A no-commitment weekly fruit & veg box curated from their own fields plus Danish partners (with a little help from abroad when needed). Everything is organic or biodynamic (their own crops are biodynamic by default).
Price
229 DKK per box. Order ad hoc; contact support if you want a recurring setup.
Add-ons: Extra items from the webshop ship in a separate cardboard box (min. 150 DKK for add-ons).
Frozen meat is sent in a shared foam box.
Delivery / pickup
Home delivery (Thu): 69 DKK or free from 600 DKK total.
Nordvest pickup: Vin de Table, Thursdays 15:00–18:00 or Hoetoft on Fridays 15:00–18:00.
Order deadline
Wednesday 09:00 for Thursday delivery the same week.
What it is
A member-owned, member-run food co-op (8 departments across Copenhagen), offering local, seasonal, organic/biodynamic produce at co-op prices. Shoppers are members, co-owners, and co-workers.
Price / membership
Two types: Regular member (volunteer) or Support member.
Regulars contribute 3 hours/month (packing, logistics, comms, IT, etc.).
Support members don’t volunteer but pay a higher bag price.
Fees: 100 DKK one-time signup + 200 DKK yearly in June (set at the April GA).
You can switch type—just notify your local department.
How it works
Weekly bag: typically 6–8 seasonal, locally produced organic items.
Shelf items can often be bought same day (varies by department).
No refunds if you miss pickup during opening hours.
Nordvest pickup
Karens Hus, Bispebjerg Bakke 8 — Wednesdays 16:00–18:30.
Order deadline
Pre-order at least one week in advance (online or in your department).
What it is
A small organic/regenerative market garden from Lejre running a 5-week October scheme in the city (Nordvest + Frederiksberg). Short, fixed run—very pilot in feel (and you can still join for the rest of October).
Membership & fees
4 items/week (5 weeks): 600 DKK total (~120 DKK/week).
7 items/week (5 weeks): 1,040 DKK total (~208 DKK/week).
How it works
Harvested in Lejre; you choose 4 or 7 veg each week from a list sent by email a couple of days before pickup. If you can’t make it, someone else can collect for you.
Pickup (KBH)
Thursdays 16:00–17:00 and Fridays 12:00–17:00.
Nordvest: Thoravej 29.
Dates / joining
Runs all of October (weeks 40–44); you can still join for the remaining weeks.
What you get
Weekly 4 or 7 seasonal, organic items—mix of hearty roots and leafy “greens.” Short farm-to-city chain with a soil-health focus.
What it is
A small, diverse organic farm at Grantoftegaard (Ballerup) growing 150+ varieties on ~1 ha, offered via harvest shares (CSA).
Membership & fees — Season 2026
Full share: 6,240 DKK for the season = 24 weekly bags → ~260 DKK/week.
Clip card: 3,100 DKK for 10 chosen weeks → ~310 DKK/week.
Season: 21 May–12 Nov 2026 (26 weeks). You choose 2 holiday weeks → 24 deliveries total.
Limited slots: Nørrebro (20 shares + 10 clip cards) and on-farm Ballerup (~40 shares + 10 clip cards).
How it works
Weekly bag: 6–8 seasonal veg & herbs, harvested for Thursday pickup.
Clip card: pick any 10 weeks (8 veg each time).
Members receive a newsletter the week before with expected contents.
CSA = shared risk & reward.
Pickup (KBH): Thursday
Nørrebro – Byens Landhandel 15:00–18:00;
On-farm (Ballerup) 12:00–20:00.
What you get
Fresh, local produce every Thursday (June–Nov cadence within the window), apples/fruit from late summer, field stories/recipes/tips, plus farm walks and workdays.
What it is
This one’s a bit different—pickups aren’t in Nordvest—but I’m including Andelsgaarde.dk because their office is in Nordvest (Demokratigarage). It’s a modern co-operative that buys and runs Danish farms using regenerative practices. They did a summer pop-up with Fovl, so city tastings will likely pop up again!
Membership & fees
150 DKK/month (or 75 DKK/month if under 28). One membership = one vote at the general assembly.
How it works / what you get
Members’ fees fund the purchase and stewardship of farms (soil health, nature restoration, community access). You get a say (voting), access to talks, meals, harvest days, and can buy vegetables directly from farm managers at farms/markets (no NV pickup).
Closest member farms: Brinkholm (just south of Køge) and a North Zealand farm near Liseleje.
What it is
Not a one-farm setup but a non-profit farmers’ market bringing local, seasonal, organic/biodynamic food from small producers to the city—closing the gap between farm and fork.
When & where
Skjolds Plads (Nørrebro), ~5 minutes from NV — every 3rd Sunday, May–December, typically 10:00–15:00. (They also run markets in other districts on other Sundays.)
How it works / what you get
Producers sell directly, so you meet the people who grow/make your food. It’s a regular grocery-style market focused on farmers and produce—perfect for a monthly seasonal shop.
Quick chooser (how to pick what’s right for you)
“I want a weekly box to my door / quick NV pickup.” → Birkemosegaard (Thu delivery; Vin de Table pickup 15–18).
“I want co-op prices and to get involved.” → KBHFF (volunteer or support member; NV pickup Wed 16–18:30).
“I’m curious but want something short.” → Godis Grønt October pilot (Nordvest pickup; still possible to join).
“I want a deep seasonal commitment.” → Drys CSA (May–Nov, Nørrebro/Ballerup pickups).
“I want to support regenerative farms and I can easily go pick-up outside of Copenhagen” → Andelsgaarde (NV-based office; shop at member farms/markets).
“I love a market vibe.” → Grønt Marked at Skjolds Plads (3rd Sunday, May–Dec).
Worth mentioning as well:
Rødder ved Pladefabrikken: Organic lunch being served, from Wednesday (soon Tuesday!) to Friday at Rødder, made with greens from small scale regenerative and organic farmers such as Brinkholm (Andelsgaarde), Birkemosegård, Stensbølggård, Månegrønt as well as Funga Farm.
Grønne Bønner: Grønne Bønner (Skjolds Plads) is a donation-funded, non-profit greengrocer and community space that showcases produce from Zealand’s small, regenerative farms. Each has its own stand and MobilePay, so shoppers pay growers directly—no middlemen, 100% transparent—while the venue hosts art, knowledge-sharing, and conversations about better agriculture. It stays open as long as donations cover costs!
If I’ve missed a good NV pickup spot or if a time changes, write to me and I’ll update this guide.
