Orange Wine from De Andre Vin, Good Company, and a First Visit to Lunden

Last Friday, I finally had the perfect excuse to go to Lunden — a place I’ve been meaning to check out for ages — for an orange wine tasting with De Andre Vin. I can’t remember exactly how I discovered them, but my husband went to one of their wine sales a few weeks ago (after I sent him the event and asked him to go in my place!), and we’ve been enjoying their bottles since. So when a friend and I were making plans for Friday night, I suggested we join their tasting — and he was instantly in.
We arrived a little early (no way I was risking being late for wine), grabbed a seat, and I got to chat with Andrei and Andreas, the two friends behind De Andre Vin. When giving their intro for the tasting, they said they had been friends for a long time, or as the other put it right after, “too long.” They started their import company in 2020, focusing on orange wine — and not just as a passing trend. It’s their niche, their specialty, their passion.
Their definition is simple but broad: any wine made from white grapes that’s macerated with skin contact. No minimum weeks in that definition. That opens up a huge range in color, depth, and intensity — and it showed in the five wines we tasted that night. We started with one macerated just a week, light and easy-drinking, then moved gradually into richer territory, ending with a deep, intense bottle they described as something you could pair with meat.
What stood out (apart from the wine) was how interactive it all felt. They didn’t just pour and lecture; they asked everyone for opinions, listened to likes and dislikes, and kept the conversation flowing naturally — with each other and with us. You could tell they’ve been friends forever and know exactly how to bounce off one another.
The crowd was just as lovely — we chatted with our tablemates about everything from wine to travel to Copenhagen life, and by the end of the evening, nearly everyone was walking out with at least one bottle. My friend and I lingered over another drink with Andreas and André, already making plans to see them at their next event.
And Lunden (it will have its own review soon!)? What a setting for a wine tasting. Technically in Frederiksberg, but just meters from Nordvest, it’s this hidden courtyard with a mix of covered and open areas — perfect when the weather can’t make up its mind. That night, the smell of grilled mackerel drifted from the evening’s chef (you can see her info here), and the combination of food aromas, warm lighting, and casual seating made the whole place feel like a little urban oasis.
I left thinking two things:
I need more orange wine in my life.
I can’t wait to be back at Lunden.
