Beyond the Office: How to Host the Ultimate Team Night in Nordvest
If you work for a Danish company, you may the drill: the quarterly or bi-yearly team outing. If you’re lucky, you’re in a company that actually likes to have fun. If you’re really lucky, your office is located near Nordvest.
I wasn’t in charge of our late-April team night, but let’s be honest: I had a few ideas. After a previous successful outing (wine in the courtyard at Dave’s, dinner at Kima, and a nightcap at Gamma), my colleagues decided to stick to the neighborhood but add an "ambitious" twist.
Here is how to do a team night in Nordvest like a local.
Phase 1: The "Shivia" Tournament at Urban Camper:
We kicked things off at Urban Camper. On Tuesdays, shuffleboard is free, but my colleagues didn't just want to play: they wanted a challenge.
They invented "Shivia" (or Trifle, depending on who you ask): Shuffleboard Trivia. You had to answer a question correctly just to earn the right to throw your puck. There were "blockage" cards and "double-up" points to play before you threw. It was so intense that in two hours, we barely finished two games. It was the perfect way to break the ice (and teach our international colleagues how to play S’nud on the terrace before the games began).
Phase 2: Refueling at Kima
All that mental and physical shuffleboarding works up an appetite. We headed over to Kima for dinner. We went for the full menu and then added a few "extra" dishes because we were eating late and, frankly, the food is too good to skip.
The wine recommendations were spot on, and the atmosphere was exactly what you want for a team dinner: cozy, high-quality, and intentional.
Phase 3: The Dice Game at Gamma
Just like last time, we ended the night at Gamma. But while my previous team night ended early with a quiet beer, this one escalated. We got deep into a game of dice that lasted until the very end of the night.
A huge shoutout to the staff at Gamma, who were kind enough to let us finish our final round before politely showing us the door at closing time. It’s that kind of neighborhood hospitality that makes the NV spots so special.
